Culture

Growing Opportunities

In a time of diversity and social conflict, scholars need to understand the world, both in a local and global context. With Cultural Studies, students will develop an understanding of Ghanaian values along with international cultures. Scholars are taught moral values and how to recognize positive relationships and where to turn to for advice when needed. Scholars will acquire and develop their knowledge and understanding of different world faiths and cultures and have opportunities to understand the relationship between belief and practice. Scholars will be able to express their own beliefs and experiences, whilst developing critical skills including respect for others, questioning and being able to make moral judgments that they can take into the world beyond the school environment.

Engaging

Active Learning

Scholars/ Learners develop the ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively in both speech and writing. They learn how to employ a wide-ranging vocabulary, using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Our learners will develop a personal style and an awareness of the audience being addressed. Learners are also encouraged to read widely, both for their own enjoyment and to further their awareness of ways in which English can be used.

Reading, Comprehension and Writing skills develop more in-depth analysis and communication skills such as synthesis, inference, evaluation, opinion, authors viewpoint, arguments, and debates, drawing conclusions, formulating a resolve, and the ability to order facts and present opinions effectively.
